Youth Team
We have a Team of talented young climbers who represent The Climbing Station at Regional and National Competitions. They train each week on a Monday evening. We hope to continue to coach them to ever harder grades and encourage them to become lifelong climbers.
You’ll often see them crushing at the Station, putting the rest of us mere mortals to shame.
The Team is invitation-only as is our Development Squad. Which is for promising young climbers that may need a little extra coaching before making a step-up to the Team. Many members of each squad begin climbing in our kids’ clubs.
Youth Climbing Series And Midlands Youth Climbing Series
The BMC Youth Climbing Series is a climbing competition for young people. The series is extremely popular and attracts hundreds of young climbers nationwide. The competition is open to first-time competitors, as well as experienced competition climbers from categories Youth E to Youth A. Last year we hosted the 3rd round of the YCS here.
The MY (Midlands Youth) Climbing Series is a fun event organised by parents of local young climbers and the climbing walls of the Midlands. Each round is hosted by a different wall in the region, including a bouldering-only round at The Climbing Station. Our team members competed across the series all doing us proud! A few even managed to get themselves on the podium in some rounds!
TCS Youth Open
Without the usual Competition schedule to rely on in 2021, we hosted our very own competition for these young crushers. The Youth Open had a great turn out and we were very happy to see many of own climbers in podium places! The Results can be found -> HERE <-
